We Salute The Red, White and Blue, Part 1

Here are a few pictures from our 4th of July church picnic at Meridian's city celebration/fireworks display. We had a great 4th--- hope you did, too!

Look at this pretty girl all dressed up for the 4th!

Emily waving her own little flag! We are going to use it in school to say the Pledge of Allegiance.

Here's Logan, a little boy in our church and one of Emily's playmates.

Here are some of our church folk. :)

Gramma and Grandpa were so glad to be with Emily on the 4th!

Emily's Gramma and Grandpa Come to Visit!

Josh's Mom and Dad came on Friday night for the holiday weekend, leaving this morning to go see Josh's brother, Jeremy, in Pensacola. We had a wonderful visit, and they wasted no time in spoiling Emily! :)

Friday night was spent playing with Emily, talking until 1:00am, and eating Berry Berry Cool Pie (a new recipe I found that is so good--- especially when it is so hot outside!).

On Saturday, they joined us for our church 4th of July event (I will post those pictures next!).

Sunday was spent at morning and evening church, with a very nice lunch in-between at the Olive Garden to celebrate me and Josh's upcoming birthdays, compliments of Gramma and Grandpa. Yummy!!

Monday morning, Josh and his Dad went fishing with a church member and his son. It was so nice for them to be able to have some father-son time! Mom and I took Emily to McDonald's, where Gramma bought Emily a Happy Meal to celebrate Emily getting saved and Emily played to her heart's content (well, we still had to pull her out of the play area before she was done, but we let her play for over an hour!) That night, we had burgers and fries and watermelon... and my blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream that Josh's Dad loves--- as a little way to celebrate HIS birthday (which is July 16th) early! :) It was a great visit!
